Campania
Campania is a region of great wines, appreciated even back in Roman times. Today high-quality productions are concentrated in the Irpinia and Sannio areas, where the soil is dense with pyroclastic material, limestone and tuff, and the mild and aired climate favour the growth of valuable vines.
The vineyards where are wines are produced are located on heights ranging between 200m and 500m above sea level and are characterized by a strong temperature variation. The white wines produced in this area, such as Greco, Fiano and Falanghina, are intense and feature a satisfying mineral backbone perfectly balanced with notes of orange and citrus, and a balsamic, almond-like finish. The most important red of the region is Aglianico: a powerful, muscular wine, with a long finish.
